Andreas Wieser

Andreas Wieser, who obtained his schooling as a hotel manager at the world renowned Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland, is the founder and visionary of Lanserhof Health and Medical Centre in Lans, Austria. As managing director and co-proprietor of one of the leading facilities in the field of healthcare and well-being, he has been the driving force behind the successful internationally renowned Lans Med Concept for nearly twenty-five years.
As he took over at Lanserhof in 1984, his aim – not least due to his own personal experience in this area - was to turn it into more than just another hotel offering health and spa facilities. He committed himself completely to achieving this aim by looking for viable and enduring methods for authentic and genuine regeneration of the body and sound prevention techniques.
With a continuously increasing team of doctors and therapists, he initially began to further develop the FX Mayr medicinal methods of regeneration techniques for the body. The treatment of metabolic related problems was supplemented through diverse forms of therapy for the body, massages, integrated exercises and above all through the most up to date diagnostic techniques of orthodox medicine.
The combination of orthodox medicine and alternative medicine, stimulusfor which Andreas Wieser had looked for worldwide, laid the foundations for the subsequently very successful Lans Med Concept. As a result of this, Andreas Wieser has come to be known as a mentor for a new form of medicinal therapy.
A decisive factor in the continuous further development of this highly successful concept was a holistic approach, whereby the question of how the mind and consciousness influence the health of a person was a focal point. This pivotal question has been forgotten due to the technological progression of western medicine. Pursuant to the holistic approach of the Lans Med Concept, Andreas Wieser insisted that an individual ‘tailor-made’ therapy would be developed for every guest. This therapy would not consist of chemically active ingredients, but should be mainly stimulated by the self-healing powers of the human being.
Permanent development of the Lans Med Concept is seen by Andreas Wieser as a reflection of the motto:
“PREVENTION RATHER THAN CURE”
or „health care“ instead of „sick care“. This means primarily conveying the causes of illnesses and diseases to people which in fact stem substantially from our present day way of living. A very important aspect of this concept for him in combination with plenty of exercise and a healthy diet, is also the deceleration of a stressful pace of life and imparting upon the guest a lifestyle which optimises the maximum resources an individual has to offer. In this holistic healing process within the framework of the Lans Med Concept, the natural environment and Lans as a place of energy and rejuvenation play an important role. They are an integral factor in the healing process which allows a person to find one’s own natural rhythm again and promote the body, mind and soul to work in harmony with each other.
Together with the constant further development of the Lans Med Concept, Andreas Wieser’s focus for the future is to establish this concept in particular and suitable places of energy worldwide whereby new perceptions of regeneration, modern preventative measures and healing techniques can be specifically and individually realised and implemented.
He is convinced that with this vision of Lanserhof he has planted a seed, a ‘seed of health’ which with careful nurturing can grow and develop into a worldwide network of individual centres of health and healing.
